This thought from a recent sermon on Caleb in Joshua 14, which I referenced again in today’s sermon on Jehoshaphat in II Chronicles 20:12.  Both of these men faced enemies which were powerful and dangerous, and neither played down the problem.  Both faced the problem head on in its full magnitude.

Faith doesn’t Minimise Difficulties

Faith Maximises God

If we minimise the difficulties, we minimise the magnitude of God’s deliverance.  Faith doesn’t do that.  Faith is honest about the difficulties, but magnifies God as the One who is able to overcome those difficulties.
