To Kill or be Killed

Brothers and sisters, to quote my good friend John Owen, Be killing sin or it will be killing you.

Pastor Larry Rogier wrote When Sermon Prep and YouTube Collide (this DOESN’T mean he gets his sermons off YouTube :)) a couple of weeks ago.  It’s well worth the read, and drew the following comment from one pastor:

Best article you’ve ever written.

I’ve never read all of Larry’s articles so I won’t say “best” :), but it is a short and valuable reminder of “how easy it is to put on a good show, to look right, dress right, sing right, speak right, be passionate and energetic, and not be living the crucified life.”

Sin is deadly, and we need to be constantly killing it.

Colossians 3:5-9

5 Mortify (put to death) therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
