The Best Critics

Sometimes our enemies are better at seeing our flaws than our friends are, so they may have the most valuable criticisms (even if they express them horribly or grossly overstate them).

    Even a fool can sometimes speak truth…even if unintentionally! honest evaluation of criticism is hard, but worthwhile.

      Always worthwhile. If the criticism is false (and that of our enemies often is), if we’ve given an honest evaluation we can withstand it better, in the confidence that their criticism is meaningless.
