Again in the “Just for Fun” category.
I grew up 15 miles from Boring, and when we were in Portland in October my 11-year-old, for some reason, wanted a picture of this sign. 🙂 DON’T use the picture without her permission — as the youngest of six, she is quite militant about protecting her rights!
Last Saturday, we drove within a mile of Dull (and fittingly, didn’t even know it was there).
For an Oregonian now in Scotland, news of a Dull–Boring link is absolutely phenomenal, and all should be thankful for the initiative of the Dull Women’s Book Club.
As a kid, I was always intrigued by the fact that Boring is on the road to Damascus — Saul certainly didn’t find that road to be boring (Acts 9:1-8).
My husband has a relative who lives there, but some time ago something changed with the mail, so it had to be addressed to a different town.
If I remember correctly, it isn’t officially incorporated as a town or anything.
I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve been to Boring. 🙂
Love place names. On our recent trip to the UK, we kept driving by a village called Dummer. Not sure I’d want that as my address, although I am sure it is a very nice village.
Maranatha!

There’s a village in Aberdeenshire called Tough, and another called Lost. Fun stuff. 🙂
