Motivated by the Promise of His Coming — Summary

This is a series of sermon summaries written by Pastor Scott Markle which he gave me permission to post.  The series had a pastoral approach to New Testament prophecy, noting how the promise of Christ’s coming should motivate us to live.  Pastor Markle now blogs regularly at Shepherding the Flock Ministries (his latest is on one of my favourite Psalms).

Series Introduction — introducing my readers to Pastor Markle and explaining why I posted this series.

Each of the nine sermon summaries included discussions of multiple passages in the New Testament which promise our Lord’s return, and how those passages tell us His return should motivate us.

Part 1 — looking at promises of Christ’s Second Coming in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Part 2 — promises of His return in Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, and 2 Corinthians.

Part 3 — promises of His return in Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians

Part 4 — promises of His return in 1 Thessalonians

Part 5 — promises of His return in 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, and Titus

Part 6 — promises of His return in Hebrews and James

Part 7 — promises of His return in 1 Peter

Part 8 — promises of His return in 2 Peter

Part 9 — promises of His return in 1 John, Jude, and Revelation

Series Summary — a much more extensive summary than this :), in which I listed every passage Pastor Markle had addressed, giving each motivation he drew from the texts in concise bullet points.
