Repentance and Faith

Repentance — jettison wrong thinking

“Thinking again,” we discard our own excuses and ideas
about God, man, right / wrong / sin, and salvation.

Faith — accept right thinking

We truly accept what God says in His Word
about God, man, right / wrong / sin, and salvation.

Faith and Repentance.

Two sides of the same coin.
Bringing our thinking into line with God’s.

Glass Half Empty or Overflowing?

I can indeed hardly see how anyone ought to wish Christianity to be true for if so the plain language of the text seems to show that the men who do not believe, and this would include my father, brother and almost all of my friends, will be everlastingly punished. And this is a damnable doctrine.
– Charles Darwin

I can indeed hardly see how anyone cannot rejoice that Christianity is true, for if so the plain language of the text shows that whosoever will believe will be forgiven of all their sins and will be in everlasting glory.  And this is a glorious doctrine.

Is Jesus Jehovah? Ask the New World “Translation” (part three)

Tragic Churches

II Thessalonians 3:14-15

14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

The tragedy of many modern, prosperous, complacent, indulgent “Christian churches” is that they are full of two kinds of people:

  1. Those who are not Christians at all.
  2. Those who are Christians, but are such that the only brotherly treatment the Scripture allows us to give them is to admonish them.

Is Jesus Jehovah? Ask the New World “Translation” (part two)

God’s name is Jehovah, and “Jehovah’s Witnesses” cultists say it is the name of the Father alone, denying that Jesus is God.  As I wrote yesterday, their own Bible mis-translation, the New World “Translation,” changes many verses which show Jesus is Jehovah, one with the Father.  Thus, they deny the doctrine which has become known as “The Trinity” — the Biblical teaching that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are One, yet Three.

We’re looking at a few passages which, even in their “Bible,” teach that Jesus is Jehovah.  Continue reading
