Is Jesus Jehovah? Ask the New World “Translation” (part one)

The one true God tells us His name is “Jehovah,” a name He often uses to emphasise His faithfulness to His covenants / promises.  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as the great Three-in-One, unite in carrying out all His promises.

The “Jehovah’s Witnesses” cult teaches many errors, but the worst is to not worship Jesus, claiming He is not the true God, Jehovah.  Their Bible mis-translation, the New World “Translation,” changes many verses which show Jesus is Jehovah and one with the Father.  Yet, even their “Bible” teaches that Jesus is Jehovah.  I’ll take a few posts to show this.

The Privilege of “Walking the Vale”

Psalm 23:4

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Sometimes, when the Shepherd takes one of His beloved through that valley, He allows a pastor to journey along part of the way.  The pastor may never be the same again.

“At the End”

It is a bit embarrassing to have been concerned with the human problem all one’s life and find at the end that one has no more to offer by way of advice than ‘try to be a little kinder.’
– Aldous Huxley, humanist and agnostic

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.  I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
– Paul, apostle and Christian (II Timothy 4:6-8)

When people are determined on a mode of conduct which they know to be wrong, they feel injured by the expectation of any thing better from them.

To My Homosexual Readers

I’ve been writing posts recently based on a Bible study series on the Church of Scotland decision to permit the ordination of homosexuals.  Some readers will disagree with what I’ve written.  I’ve tried to truly show what the Bible says on homosexuality — that’s my responsibility.  How you respond is your responsibility.  But the Bible talks about many other things, too, and I’d like to mention some of that.
