Remember When You Were Little?

Remember having a brilliantly happy time, playing with friends or family?  You were having the best time of your young life, and then — DISASTER.

Your mum or dad  said, “Time for bed.”  The best day ever came to a crashing and unhappy end.  “I’m not really tired!  Can’t I stay up a little longer?”  Remember that?

In Heaven, the “best day ever” will never end.

Revelation 22:3-5

3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Revelation 22:20

He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

The best of it all is that we will have no time for any other activity than praising God.

That, Fred, is an absolutely brilliant thought. We’ll have all eternity, as Newton said “no less days to sing God’s praise,” all the time in the world (scratch that, all the time in Heaven), and we’ll still not have time for anything but praising God — because He is infinitely worthy of praise.
