Room 4 in the British Museum (Egyptian Sculpture) has several things of note to those interested in Biblical history.  One of the most famous items in the museum is the Rosetta Stone.

Egyptian hieroglyphics were no longer used by the fourth or fifth century A.D., and before long no one knew how to read them — until some of Napoleon’s soldiers found the Rosetta Stone in 1799.

The Unity of Scripture — The “Analogy of Faith”

“That Book in Your Hand”

In this study of the nature of the Bible, we are currently looking at the Unity of Scripture, that it is a single story by a single Author, conveying the wonderful message:

It is the story of God’s love, the story of
THE SAVIOUR
who gave His life that we might live in love with Him forever.

The Unity of Scripture — It All Matters

“That Book in Your Hand”

I posted last week (continuing my series on the nature of the Bible) on the Unity of Scripture, the fact that it is a single story told by a single Author, the greatest story ever told.  The message of the Bible?

It is the story of God’s love, the story of

who gave His life that we might live in love with Him forever.

“That Book in Your Hand”

Is the Bible just a bunch of fragmented stories and letters on religion written by a lot of different people, or is it one Book with one Author?  Is it disjointed fragments, or a single epic story, the greatest love story ever told?

CAESAR : Who is it in the press that calls on me?
I hear a tongue, shriller than all the music,
Cry ‘Caesar!’ Speak; Caesar is turn’d to hear.
Soothsayer: Beware the ides of March.
CAESAR: What man is that?
BRUTUS : A soothsayer bids you beware the ides of March.
CAESAR: Set him before me; let me see his face.
CASSIUS : Fellow, come from the throng; look upon Caesar.
CAESAR What say’st thou to me now? speak once again.
Soothsayer: Beware the ides of March.
CAESAR: He is a dreamer; let us leave him: pass.

Act 3, Scene 1

CAESAR: The ides of March are come.
Soothsayer: Ay, Caesar; but not gone.
